Over the years sweet corn varieties have been developed to improve flavor, seed germination, flexibility of the harvest period, and many other desirable characteristics for the home gardener. Plant early, mid-season, and late varieties to spread your supply of fresh corn and extend the corn season.
Our sweet corn packets contain a minimum of 135 seeds and will plant 30 to 50 feet of row. One pound has approximately 1800 to 5000 seeds (average 2500 for su/se types, 3000 for sh² types) and plants about 500 to 800 feet. We recommend planting an average of 12 lbs. per acre for su/se types and 8lbs. per acre for sh² varieties.
