Known as Ghost Chile. Measures over one million Scoville units and is rated in the Guinness World Records as the world's hottest pepper. Originating in India, it was probably named Bhut, or ghost, because of the way the heat sneaks up on you when you eat it. The 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inch peppers are used to spice up cuisine, but should be handled with extreme caution.
