2012 AAS Winner! If you liked the 2011 AAS Winner Summer Jewel Red Salvia, you'll also appreciate this pink-blooming sister. The dwarf-sized plants grow 20 inches tall at most with abundant branching that gives them a width of up to 16 inches. They bloom prolifically throughout the growing season, producing a multitude of spikes lined with 1/2 inch, light pink, lipped flowers. As a bonus, the flowers appear almost two weeks earlier than the other pink salvias used as comparisons in the AAS trials. And of course, hummingbirds love pink just as much as red, so you'll find these plants are hummingbird magnets. Length of time from sowing seed to flowering is approximately 50 days.
