12261 - Sochi Tea Plant

Camellia sinensis
Sochi Tea Plant The most northern-grown tea in the world. Tea plants are attractive evergreen shrubs that will grow in regions where temperatures don't fall below 0 F. They produce abundant 1 to 2 inch fragrant white flowers in fall and have leathery, dark green foliage. Our Sochi plants were grown from seed gathered in Sochi, Russia. The leaves of Sochi, when dried, make a very aromatic and flavorful tea. Plants prefer part shade in hot areas and rich, well-drained, acidic soil. If left unpruned they will grow 8 to 10 feet tall.
