(P.P.4409) A genetically superior river birch with creamy-white peeling bark and leaves that are pale green in spring, deep green in summer, and golden in fall. It's strong, fast-growing, adapts well to wet and dry locations as well as heat and cold, is tolerant to all but the most alkaline soils and has proved to be immune to the bronze birch borer. Mature trees develop a dense canopy with slightly pendulous branches. Attains a height of 40 to 50 feet. Spectacular in clumps of 3 to 5 trees.
