Loaded with vitamin C, the plump yet firm berries are excellent for fresh eating, james and jellies. The easy-to-grow self-fruitful shrubs grow 3 to 5 feet tall and are resistant to many diseases and pests that typically plague currants and gooseberries. Easily adaptable to most soils with little or no use of fertilizers or pesticides and hardy to -40 degrees F.
