Akila Daisy White

Akila Daisy White item #07141

Cold-tolerant annuals with daisy-like flowers. Ideal in beds, containers, and mixed plantings. Often used in fall garden displays. Transplant outdoors in spring 2 to 4 weeks before the last frost, or start seed indoors 6 to 10 weeks earlier. Can also sow directly in the garden after the last spring frost. Plant seed about ¼ inch deep.

Maintenance

For full sun to part shade, plants are drought-tolerant and best in well-drained soils. High light levels and cool nights promote strongest flowering. Benefits from part shade in hot, humid climates. Plants tolerate some heat, but flowering slows in extremely hot summer climates. Using an organic mulch helps keep soil cool.

Fertilizer Recommendations

Use low rates of Algoflash Flowering Plant 4-6-7 Liquid Fertilizer (51087), Neptune Fish & Seaweed Fertilizer 2-3-1 (51221), or Osmocote 14-14-14 (51173).

Alternative Products

Other cold-tolerant annuals are Glamour Red Hybrid Ornamental Kale (05702), Jung's Giant Fancy Mix Pansies (07186), and Snapdragon.

Complimentary Products

Moderate feeder, benefits from regular use of fertilizer. New Azaguard Insecticide/Repellent (50008) or Safer Insecticidal Soap (50424) can be used against aphids.
