An old German favorite with excellent taste, well-suited for making 'kraut'. The firm heads average 6 to 10 pounds each and have a pointed, bulbous shape. Well-liked in Germany for its taste and unique appearance.

Planted seeds in end of February for planting in Wisconsin garden. Seeds grew hardily and cabbage seedlings were transplanted in early May. I had timed soaker hoses all summer. Largest head weighed 23 pounds after it had been trimmed! This cabbage makes wonderful homemade sauerkraut. If you like tart but yet sweet sauerkraut - this cabbage is wonderful. We made 85 gallons out of 100 seeds.Everyone I gifted kraut to, asks if there is more! Very much fun to grow and enjoy!!
