(P.P.24760) Huge blooms of unbelievable color. This heady hibiscus bears loads of near-black, glossy buds that unfurl into huge, 8 to 10 inch platters of lustrous, deep cranberry-red, each accented with darker centers and veins. The flowers are even more dramatic displayed against the bright green, hydrangea-like foliage filling big, bushy, 4 foot plants. Plant in full to part sun.

I received three bare root hardy hibiscus plants in April. For those unfamiliar with bare roots they look worse than dead sticks. I soaked them in a bucket overnight and planted them in a good grade potting soil. It took less than a week for them to send up shoots and they are the most marvelous mature looking young plants already. I grow several varieties of this species and these are the most hardy plants I have ever received. They far surpass the small cuttings that come from most nurseries in the three inch pots. Thanks Jung, this is my first order and I'll be a faithful customer. * New notes added 6/4/2014 9:37:39 PM:

All I can say is WOW. This was the most beautiful hibiscus ever, the buds are nearly black and they open to huge blooms larger than your head, they are truly dinner plate size, and it doesn't quit blooming until frost! I am just hoping it will survive the winter!
