Corn, Ornamental, Montana Morado Maize
(80-110 Day) Dark purple, almost black kernels are loaded with antioxidants. Developed to mature quickly and thrive in short-season areas, this highly pigmented corn grinds easily and is delicious almost any way it's used, especially in corn bread. Attractive ears are long and cylindrical. Hand-selected by Dave Christensen out of his Painted Mountain corn.
For best results, isolate from all other corn. When planting both ornamental corn and sweet corn in home gardens, plant the ornamental corn first to avoid cross-pollination. Wait three weeks, then plant the sweet corn.
