4 ½ c. sugar
1 c. cornstarch
2 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
10 c. water
3 T. lemon juice
Place apple slices tightly in the scalded canning jars.
In a saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and water.
Cook over medium heat, stir constantly until thickened. Add lemon juice. Pour over apples.
Seal and process in canner in hot water bath for 20 minutes.
