The lily of ancient Greece. Each 2 to 5 foot stem holds 8 to 15 funnel-shaped, pure white blooms. Plant in late summer or fall with no more than an inch of soil covering the bulb. A rosette of foliage appears soon after planting. Blooms in early June. Mulch in colder climates to prevent bulbs from heaving.
