An old-fashioned flowering annual for beds, containers, and rock gardens in full sun. Makes a great fresh or dry cut flower. Sow outdoors only after the danger of spring frost has passed. Can sow seed indoors 8 to 10 weeks before outdoor planting time for an early start. Plant seed about ¼ inch deep.

Maintenance

Low-maintenance plants for sunny, well-drained sites. Heat and humidity tolerant and thrives in hot, sunny spots. Cut flowers regularly to encourage continued, strong blooming.

Fertilizer Recommendations

Use low rates of Algoflash Flowering Plant 4-6-7 Liquid Fertilizer (51087), Neptune Fish & Seaweed Fertilizer 2-3-1 (51221), or Osmocote 14-14-14 (51173).

Statice Facts

Generally not bothered by pests or problems. Root and stem rots can occur if plants are grown in overly wet, poorly-drained, or soggy soil. Though commonly grown as an annual, plants are actually tender perennials in mild (hardiness zone 8) areas.
