Growing Statice

Pastel Mix

An old-fashioned flowering annual for beds, containers, and rock gardens in full sun. Makes a great fresh or dry cut flower. Sow outdoors only after the danger of spring frost has passed. Can sow seed indoors 8 to 10 weeks before outdoor planting time for an early start. Plant seed about ¼ inch deep.

Low-maintenance plants for sunny, well-drained sites. Heat and humidity tolerant and thrives in hot, sunny spots. Cut flowers regularly to encourage continued, strong blooming.

Statice Facts

Generally not bothered by pests or problems. Root and stem rots can occur if plants are grown in overly wet, poorly-drained, or soggy soil. Though commonly grown as an annual, plants are actually tender perennials in mild (hardiness zone 8) areas.
