Squash seeds can be sown directly into the garden after the danger of frost has passed. For an earlier start, sow in individual peat pots or Jiffy®-7 Super-Size plant starters, 3 to 4 weeks before transplanting to the garden. Squash roots tend to be sensitive to disturbance, hence plantable pots are essential. Packets have a minimum of 30 seeds, unless noted. Seed size varies from 150-450 seeds per ounce.
