Great tomato
Mar 23, 2024  |  By Seth
Received as a free trial packet last year, and like it well enough that I will buy it again. Great flavor and very rich golden color. Most of the fruits I got were approx. tennis ball size - plants were under drought stress for most of the very dry summer, and I was very happy with how they held up. Given more consistent water, etc. I'm sure the fruit would have been larger.

Good Experience
Jan 25, 2024  |  By Jeremy Mynderse
My dad got these as a free seed and gave them to me because he does not start his own tomato seedlings. They were very short, compact plants for indeterminates, but put on very heavy yields. With the wet second half of the summer last year I did not water my garden for several months and while my mortgage lifters were splitting around the top from the rain these barely cracked at all. Also very flavorful for a yellow-ish tomato (I usually find them bland). While most of my indeterminates reached 7 - 8' (some more) last year these topped out around 5-6' but would have slid down the strings I trained them up under the weight of the fruit if not for the stockiness of the stems. I'm just trying to figure out whether these were open pollinated so I can use the seeds I saved. Would definitely grow again but I try to limit my permanent collection to plants I can save seed from.
Owner Response: These are open pollinated

Amish Gold Slicer
Jan 10, 2024  |  By Karen Catherine Baker
I was going to write a review last season but did not get to it, sorry. New season order and I am reminded of this tomato. Good size, prolific, good taste. Plants were strong and sturdy, there were so many tomatoes by the end of the season I had to add more steaks to hold the plant up. Thanks for the free seeds!

We picked up a free trial pack of these seeds at the Garden Center, and they were wonderful plants! Lots of pretty, tasty, and versatile tomatoes that didn't show any issues until the cold weather came. We will be planting these again.

WOW what a tomato!!!
Oct 28, 2023  |  By Mary K. Andrews
Received as a free gift started 2 seeds indoors under lights. I planted one and shared the second plant. Living in interior Alaska we plant tomatoes in the greenhouse. It did great and I will definitely order seed and plant more than 1. I will cut back on a different tomato I have been planting for years because this Amish Gold tomato plant did so great in the greenhouse and flavor, texture, blemish free was fantastic and it was so juicy.

Awesome Tomato!
Sep 29, 2023  |  By Joel Selensky
I too received a free trial packet of this tomato variety, so I tried it in my garden in Central MN. Thank you Jung for sending these! I am very impressed with this tomato, as I have never grown a gold variety before. The taste is very well balanced with a sweet, creamy texture. I have tried them in sandwiches, as a slicer for eating, and I made canned tomato juice from them. Each way I've used them, I have really liked them. The juice was amazing! The plant yielded a heavy load of tomatoes, and they were blemish free, as others have said. They also are keeping better than my red slicers in storage after harvesting. I will continue planting this variety. We had a drought year, but I had no disease issues with them.

I planted the free seeds and they far outproduced my other tomatoes. Beautiful color and very meaty. Will grow again next year.

Free seeds turned into high yield
Aug 27, 2023  |  By KATHY M KERR
I received these seeds this past spring as a free sample so I decided to start them. I planted 2 plants and gave a few more successful starts away. I am now drowning in tomatoes with no end in sight, and so are the people I gave some to. These are one of the best I have ever had. The tomatoes themselves are very meaty and flavorful as slicers and I am now freezing them to make sauce later.

Amish gold slicer
Aug 22, 2023  |  By Cari
I received a trial packet of Amish Gold Slicer tomato seeds with my order this spring. I happily planted seeds and now reaping the benefits. Tomato flavor is mild and not as acidic as other tomatoes. Orange color is quite stunning and I actually came on the webpage to verify ripeness. I'm not an expert on tomatoes, but after the state was heat with a heat wave, my tomatoes taste sweeter. Size of tomatoes good for slicing or salads and tomato skin unblemished. Looking forward to some fresh salsa. I would plant these again.

Amazing tomato
Aug 20, 2023  |  By Amy C Limberg
I received a free sample pack of these when I ordered earlier this year, and I'm so glad I did. I'm not sure if I would have ordered these if I hadn't tried them first, but I definitely will be for next summer. It's been such a hard year weather wise, but these did better than others and the look and taste is amazing!! Highly recommend. They are a beautiful contrast in the garden as well

Great flavor. The sweetness and acidity were perfect. Right amount of flesh and very juicy. I'll definitely grow it again next year.

Worthwhile tomato
Aug 14, 2023  |  By Sue
I just harvested my first Amish Gold tomato. It had a pretty gold color and uniform shape. I sliced into it while it still felt quite firm, and I'm glad I did because I think the texture would have been a little mealy if I had waited longer. Flavor was sweet and pleasant, not as acidic as some tomatoes I've grown but still delicious for fresh eating. The plants have been very productive, so I am looking forward to sharing them!

Amish gold slicer tomato
Aug 13, 2023  |  By Mary Dunlop
85 days is accurate growth period. The tomatoes are beautiful, meaty and blemish free. Sadly they are also tasteless. I will use them in soups for any nutrients they may have. I would not serve them otherwise due to having no flavor.
