(50-60 Days) The tender, mild-tasting, asparagus-like spears require little space to grow. Harvest the central shoot first to encourage the development of side shoots. After the center is harvested, side shoots continue to develop for about 4 weeks extending your harvest time. Great for steaming, sauteing, fresh eating and freezing.

Best Brassica in my WI Garden

I've grown this variety for at least 7 years now, 14-16 plants at a time. This variety produces and produces and produces! From late July through late October, I harvest at least once a week, eat lots fresh, blanch and freeze the rest, and eat it all winter long. It's easy to harvest, as you simply snap off the shoots at the branching point. This will be a lifelong garden staple for me. Have always had a great germination rate with this seed as well. Wish Jungs sold these 25 seeds to a package, though.
