Can you tell when your melons are ripe? Golden Crown's rind ripens to a rich golden-yellow color when mature. The flesh is red and very sweet with true watermelon flavor. The oval fruits, borne on 6 to 9 foot vines, have small black seeds and weigh 5 to 7 lbs. Plants show tolerance to Powdery Mildew and Anthracnose.
