2017 Perennial Plant of the Year Butterflies are attracted to the fragrant nectar of this rugged, sun-loving native perennial. Clusters of orange star-shaped flowers are produced in July and August. Bushy plants vary in height from 18 inches to 36 inches. They are slow to appear in spring, so mark them well. Tolerates poor, sandy soil. Orange flowers. Full sun.
