(Cornus mas) Cornelian cherries are actually dogwoods, grown for their delicate yellow flowers in early spring, yellow and red fall color, and bright red or yellow fruits. These Ukrainian selections are prized for their large, sweet-tart, juicy fruits, delicious fresh or used in baked goods, preserves, juice and wine. Vitamin C content is about twice that of oranges. Fruit softens when ripe, usually in late August. Somewhat self-fertile, but planting two varieties ensures bigger crops. Bears 2-3 years after planting. PP Cannot ship to: AK, FL, HI.
